CleanRest Review
At CleanRest® their sole mission is to help you get a better night’s sleep. And not just better, but healthier. They design and manufacture the world’s most advanced and medically effective allergy bedding-barrier products.
As a concerned parent whose child suffered from nighttime breathing difficulties, Gary Goldberg, the inventor of CleanRest®, used three generations of his family’s textile manufacturing background to develop the solution. The result is a fabric with a weave so tiny no allergen or liquid can penetrate it — and so comfortable and breathable, you virtually don’t know it’s there.

The CleanRest Mattress Encasement ($79.99 - $119.99) is suitable for asthma and allergy sufferers such as myself. It provides supreme protection against dust mites, which I'm very allergic to; pet dander, bed bugs, pollen, and mold spore allergies.
I may not be able to prove to you scientifically how effective their products are, but I've noticed that my allergies have been better since using this mattress encasement. I didn't find it to be noisy like some reviewers claimed. The only downside was that it was a challenge to install. It is made with MicronOne® allergy blocking fabric technology which uses 100% micro denier polyester fabric that is so tightly woven that it has a maximum pore size of 1 micron. MicronOne® creates a protective barrier between you and the micro-toxins that build up naturally over time in every mattress. This mattress encasement is also water resistant, breathable, comfortable, machine washable and has a lifetime warranty!
You can stop the dual migration route of the micro-toxins, from your bedroom floor to your mattress and from your mattress to your box spring with the Box Spring Encasement ($59.99 - $119.98). It is made with the same with MicronOne™ allergy blocking technology; and it is also water resistant, breathable, comfortable, machine washable and has a lifetime warranty.

I'm super picky with pillows. I can't get a wink of sleep unless I have an extraordinary pillow. And, I absolutely love my pillows ($22.99 - $24.99 each) that I received Clean Rest. Most pillows I've tried at this price were either lumpy and / or just plain uncomfortable, but their pillows are not! They're utterly comfortable. I'm now able to get a 5-Star night's sleep. Best of all, they are made with the same MicronOne™ allergy blocking technology as the encasements. CleanRest® allergy free pillows completely block any form of micro-toxins and dust mite infestation from ever entering the interior stuffing of the pillow.

by Erickson Beamon $37,500 at Vivre
Erickson Beamon brings their innovative and decadent aesthetic to home decor and creates an exquisite lighting piece. Dripping with Japanese glass pearls, Swarovski crystals, glass and brass chain on an antique brass base, the Glam Rock chandelier is a handmade objet d'art. Karen Erickson coined the phrase "chandelier earring" in the 1980s when she designed a tiny dollhouse chandelier earring. This piece has been in the permanent collection of London's Victoria and Albert Museum for two decades.

Fresh Wave Review

Fresh Wave® odor eliminators are used to naturally eliminate odors in your house, car and everywhere else. Fresh Wave® products are created and distributed by OMI Industries, the world leader in odor control and management.
Created to eliminate the most foul odors on earth, you can find OMI products put to use every day in places such as solid waste facilities, asphalt factories, rubber manufacturing plants, hotel rooms, rental cars, offices, and homes around the world. Whatever the odor, OMI products can eliminate it safely, naturally and effectively.
You worked vigorously to remove that stain, but the smell still lingers. You have tried air freshener to mask the smell, hoping no one will notice the carpet smell. You even attempted using baking soda (a miraculous trick for just about everything) to no avail.
The Fresh Wave Carpet Shake will absorb everything from the carpet; including odors from spilled food, pet accidents, cigarette smoke, sweaty feet and anything that smells bad! With a shake here and a shake there, you can safely neutralize the odors with the fresh scent of pine and lime that cleaning can't remove. Let it sit for up to 10 minutes on your carpet or upholstery. Brush in for strong odor elimination, then vacuum. Fresh Wave is biodegradable and non-toxic. It is perfect for the naturally green home.
Active Ingredients: Natural Extracts of Lime, Pine Needle, Aniseed, Clove, Cedarwood, Soya and Bicarbonate of Soda
I've tried several synthetic air fresheners and home fragrance sprays in the past. These type of sprays smell nice first, but I usually start developing a headache and / or getting nauseated as time passes. Most of these type of fresheners are not good to have around since they bottle numerous harmful substances. These air fresheners include allergens, carcinogens such as acetaldehyde or styrene, hazardous substances such as toluene and chlorbenzene, glycol ethers, phthalates and artificial musk. Even more dangerous, formaldehyde, (known to cause cancer according to the EPA), and benzene (a carcinogen for which the WHO recommends zero exposure), may hang around the air.
The Fresh Wave Spray is made with natural ingredients like the Fresh Wave Carpet Shake, and smells just as good with the fresh lime and pine scent! It is safe to use around pets and children. You can even spray some on your pillows, linen and pet beds without having to worry about safety issues.

Beautyzzz Natural Pillowcase Review

Bed-head is no longer an issue with me since I've been using the Natural Silk Pillowcase ($47) from Beautyzzz. It is also great for the skin since it doesn't deplete skin from hydrating moisture. The amino acids in silk proteins resemble those found in human skin, which you will not find in traditional cotton pillowcases. This pillowcase is utterly soft and it does help me sleep a little better because of this. I've tried a cheapo satin pillowcase in the past, hoping that that it would reduce tangled tresses, but it did not help out at all!
Made of specially commissioned hypoallergenic silk, free of chemicals, pesticides and artificial colors, the Beautyzzz Natural Silk Pillowcase has been developed to provide the following benefits:
- Inhibiting skin and hair hydration loss and improving moisture retention
- Promoting cell renewal and maintaining natural pH levels
- Enhancing absorption of beauty products to increase their efficacy
- Preserving the natural, crease-free contours of skin and smoothness of hair (helping prevent “bed head”)
- Providing unique dermatological benefits—medical studies of silk bedding demonstrate “the natural fiber’s soothing properties are ideal for sensitive skin” and the “antimicrobial benefits and skin-like composition make silk bedding optimal for [dermatitis and eczema] skin conditions.”

5 Tips for Spring Cleaning with the Kids
With the first day of spring right around the corner, parents’ minds are turning to gardening, backyard parties, and of course, the dreaded spring cleaning.
Once the gutters are cleaned and the windows scrubbed, why not freshen up the look of your space with a quick makeover and get the kids involved? With just a few modifications, your home can look as fresh and seasonal as the daffodils popping up in your front yard and burn some of your kids never ending energy.
Refinish Refresh:
Instead of throwing out an old piece of furniture, let your kids paint it and keep it in their room. This doubles to let the kids express their creativity and as a piece of furniture. Set up shop in the back yard to enjoy the warmer weather!
Quick Cover Up:
Freshen up your furniture and protect it from muddy feet and melted popsicles with a semi-custom slipcover. Leading slipcover provider Sure Fit has an extensive selection of fitted and tailored styles in an endless array of colors and materials for couches, chairs, recliners, futons, ottomans and more. They also provide “Tuck-Once” tools and grips that help to lock your slipcover in place for a natural, fuss free solution.
Make it a race and time the kids to see how fast they can get the slipcover on the furniture.
Rearrange Change:
Moving furniture may be the easiest way to change the look of your space. Try rearranging a room, or trading out furniture from one room to the next. That unused rocker could look great by the front window, it just needs to get brought up from the basement!
Tell the kids that every item that they help move, earns them a point. Five points equals an ice cream sundae at the end of the day.
Do it Yourself Details:
Tell the kids that as a reward for cleaning up their room, they get to decorate it with their own personal style. Let them choose the colors to cover up throw pillows with sunnier colors and textures, and coordinate the colors with craft projects that will bring the room together. Think brightly painted picture frames, finger paint artwork, and colorful crafts.
Turn It Up:
Play your favorite music and turn it up to clean while you dance. When the music stops everyone has to freeze. Anyone caught moving has to put away one extra item. This makes the time fly by and the kids won’t even realize they are helping you clean.

Infusion Organique Candle Review

Ron Chavers and Carole Vialars are behind the creative passion of Infusion Organique, a fragrance and skincare line that embodies the spirit of the French.
The Sands of Morocco Soy Blend Candle ($38) has a very spicy name, but it surprisingly smells fresh and delightful! It has a vanilla scent with a touch of aromatic sandalwood and warm oak moss to a blend of certified organic lemongrass oil and ylang-ylang for a scent as warm as the Mediterranean sun. The light scent will enhance any room's atmosphere without dominating it. All of the candles at Infusion Organique are made with the highest quality of natural soy blend wax, including renewable and naturally biodegradable soy.

EcoSMART Review
EcoSMART was the first company to apply modern science to essential plant oils — creating the first 100% safe pesticides. Their products are based on the natural defenses that plants and trees have used for their self protection against insects and pathogens for millenia - essential oils.
EcoSMART sent me the Garden Fungicide ($10) just in time since I start working in my garden every March. This eco-friendly fungicide is good for disease control for roses, flowers and shrubs. It prevents and controls black spot, rust, powdery mildew, blight and other common plant diseases. Best of all, it is safe to use around children and pets! Rosemary Oil, Thyme Oil and Clove Oil are the active ingredients. The other ingredients include Water, Octadecenoic Acid Potassium Salt, Wintergreen Oil and Lecithin.
I toyed with the idea of buying something like this last year for my garden, but the price kept me from buying an eco-friendly fungicide since I wasn't sure of the effectiveness. I'm persuaded enough to go eco friendly all of the way with my garden after having a chance to try one out myself!
EcoSMART also offers a variety of organic insecticides and value bundles that will save you a bundle to ensure an insect-free home and garden!

Spring Cleaning Tips for the Garage
While spring cleaning is a seasonal rite of passage for many, the cleaning often stops at the garage door. But if you can get the garage organized and provide appropriate shelter for your belongings you'll reap benefits that last well beyond spring.
In honor of the fifth year anniversary of National Garage Organization Month (coming in April 2010), below are a few spring cleaning tips just for the garage.
Roll up the hose: Come spring, you'll find yourself using the hose again to water the lawn or wash your car. Instead of cramming the hose in the corner of your garage, invest in a piece of Gear Track and a Deep Hook that will secure the hose to the wall for easy access and storage.
Hang the bike: If the warmer weather has you exploring the neighborhood on two wheels, getting to the bike and storing it in the garage can cause all sorts of headaches. Try the Gladiator Claw Advanced Bike Storage which lets you store your bike by its rear tire, clearing up valuable floor space. The intuitive push-lock mechanism allows you to hang or release the bike in one motion.
Keep the sporting goods tidy: If spring time means play time in your family, you might suffer from soccer balls, footballs and basketballs rolling around the garage floor. This can be unsightly and also dangerous as you can trip on a loose ball. Help keep things in place with the Gladiator Ball Caddy which mounts to the wall and has openings along the front so you don't have to dig deep to retrieve what you need.
To encourage consumers to clean the garage this spring, Gladiator brand will be offering 15% off all products and 10% off all appliances on GladiatorGW.com starting April 1.

Obrien & Schridde Designs Review

O'Brien and Schridde Designs was founded in 2003. They began designing and hand-making picture frames. Their pieces reflect their appreciation for time gone by. Over the years they have often photographed their two children and rose garden. You see these images in their frames. They continue to explore new ideas that might compliment their line.
You may have seen some of their frames in magazines across the country. They have appeared in Country Living, Country Home and Romantic Country Living.
The many time-worn objects with which they surround ourselves and the beauty of their ever blossoming old English roses greatly influence their work. Their individual artistic inspirations and sense of design come together in a way that suggests the delicate balance between then and now.
The elegantly beautiful Ivy Frame is now hanging on my bedroom wall. It was designed to give a warm, ethereal, and romantic feel in your home or office. It comes in 3 different sizes and 2 different colors - Cream or Black. I received the Cream. This particular style is very fitting for my vintage inspired theme that I'm working on in my bedroom. I plan on getting a black and white photo of my son and placing it in this frame to give it a very authentic "vintage" look.
Each of their beautiful frames are designed to look weathered and worn. They have just introduced their artboard frames. These frames are made from cardboard that is over a half inch thick. The edges have a stunning antique gold leaf finish. The printed front has a romantic embossed and gold leaf pattern around the opening.
